S.Pellegrino sparkles with Bulgari
This week FDL were very lucky to be invited to the unveiling of a unique partnership between two of Italy's most iconic brands. S.Pellegrino water and Bulgari Jewels have combined forces to celebrate "Italian magnificence".
A sparkling jewel, selected from the Bulgari Vintage collection of 1965, is the main feature of the bottle which from mid-September, for a limited time of 3 months, will be offered in the best restaurants all over the world.
In this exclusive FDL video the bottle wearing a yellow gold necklace, embellished by brilliant cut diamonds which were part of the collection belonging to Lyn Revson, the wife of the founder of Revlon cosmetics was shown in all its glory - so sit back, relax and watch as S.Pellegrino sparkles with Bulgari.
A Nordic tasting tour
FDL took a foodie tour of the Swedish capital Stockholm bringing back a list of the some of the finest spots to eat within this scandinavian haven. There was a trip to the oldest city market the Saluhall of Ostermalms and a look at some of the best spots for those curious travelers for whom food is at the forefront of the mind.
It was impossible to visit Stockholm without talking about the new style of cooking that's taking the Nordic regions by storm and presented their cuisine to the world. The Scandinavian "New Wave" is a term coined to incorporate a group of chefs from Sweden, Norway and Denmark - chefs whose powerful, yet simple recipes present the local food of their area in all its glory.
FDL focused on Mistral, Fredrik Andersson's restaraunt in the suburbs of Stockholm where he often prepares food sourced from just outside the kitchen door.
There was also a look at Swedish crayfish parties a traditional way to enjoy the local red crayfish during the summer months in Sweden.
Sci-fi food pics
FDL rounded off the week with some of the most exciting pictures featured on the site to date. They were from the works of the world famous photographer Liz Wolfe. Liz's pictures play on strong juxtapositions by placing cheerful, feminine colors alongside unique, striking images that often hint at the grotesque.
Self proclaimed as being part sci-fi and part crime scene with candy explosions these are some of the most unique photos featuring food you will ever see.
There was also a biography of Liz, a look at a cookbook featuring some of her pictures and a look at an interesting project in a Toronto hotel in which artists are invited to decorate rooms within the hotel with some very surprising results.
Also this week
There were some great recipes for all to enjoy. From Picasso's favourite dish to Potato Croquettes and a traditional Ajoblanco soup from Malaga. More than enough to keep you going in the kitchen - until next week that is.
