Eating in San Francisco

We kicked off the week with an exciting tour of San Francisco, a city that's as famous for its counterculure as it is for its food.

We learned quickly that San Francisco's food scene focuses on small, independent restaurants and food establishments that dish up high-quality ingredients prepared with a lot of care.

We're glad we got there hungry because we had a blast exploring the city. Check out our picks for the best places to dine in San Francisco.

Mastering Biryani

From there we went turned our attention to the biryani, the fragrant rice dish made famous by the Mughal emperors of India. Although India shared biryani with the world, the fact is the origins of this fragrant rice dish can be traced back to Persia. Interesting, no?

Here's a look at the fascinating history of biryani and tips on how to make the perfect rice dish that's fit for a king.

We All Scream for Ice Cream

Keeping in mind there's still one more month left of summer we wanted to end the week on a 'cool' note. So what did we do? We created a guide focused on everyone's favorite summer dessert: ice cream.

FDL's Everything You Need to Know About Ice Cream guide will help you navigate the world of frozen concoctions - everything from gelato to sorbets. The guide contains homemade recipes, nifty ice cream inventions and fun facts that will make each lick just a little bit sweeter.
