Italy's Appetite for Seafood Soup

We kicked off the week here at Fine Dining Lovers by looking into the Italian passion for seafood soup. Given that the country is a peninsula it's not surprising that a myriad of variations exist.

Follow us on a culinary journey as we travel Italy's coast - from North to South and East to West - to discover the ''brodetto'' of Trieste, Venice, Naples, Sicily, Apulia and more.

Plus, don't miss the must-have tips for making the ultimate Italian fish soup.

Jewish Holiday Cooking

From Italy we turned our attention to Jewish holiday cooking and the wonderful dishes prepared by families around the world during holidays like Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Hannukah, Passover and Purim.

Fine Dining Lovers spoke to Jayne Cohen, an authority on Jewish holiday cooking and author of a James Beard finalist cookbook with the apt title, Jewish Holiday Cooking.

Here is a holiday-by-holiday guide to what one should eat and why.

Kickstarting Food

We rounded off the week with a look at the rise of food projects on Kickstarter, the crowd funding website that has raised millions of dollars for everything from high-tech coolers to potato salad.

It turns out food is the second most popular category on the website right after film and before technology. Here's a look at the top 10 food projects on Kickstarter and why they won over the world.
