An Interview with Matias Perdomo

This week FDL sat down for an interview with the Uruguayan chef Matias Perdomo of the Al Pont De Ferr Restaurant in Milan. A one Michelin starred chef FDL talked with him about his unique approach to food, often blowing sugar like glass to create some of his dishes.

He has built a trattoria with a strong reputation for its informal and welcoming atmosphere yet distinct and surprising approach to food. Matias talked with FDL about his passion for cooking, his influences and why he doesn't mind disturbing people with his food.

This is a great interview with a rising young chef who is not afraid to change convention and do things his own way.

A London City Tasting Tour

With the Olympics fast approaching and thousands of tourists expected to descend on London to soak up the atmosphere of the games, FDL heading to England's capital ahead of the big event to bring you a city tasting tour to help guide you through the capital from a food perspective.

London is big, has influence from all over the world and is has a food landscape that is constantly evolving. We took a look at some pubs, markets, fine dining restaurants and great breakfast spots throughout London.

So if you're heading to England for the Olympics this year and want to try some of the great food on offer this guide is certainly worth a read.

Musical Food Habits

Morrissey, Moby, Sigur Ros, apart from being musicians they all have one thing in common. They're all vegans and this week FDL examined the rising number of musicians and stars who have taken up vegetarianism and veganism.

Fiona Apple, Sinead O'Connor, Elvis Costello, Thom Yorke, and Prince - you'll be surprised to learn just how many musicians choose a vegetarian diet - it's an interesting look at this food culture and to mark this rise FDl brought you a great collection of vegan recipes.
