A Lifetime Achievement
The week kicked off with the excitng announcement that acclaimed chef Alain Ducasse is this year's recipient of the Diners Club International Lifetime Achievement Award, which is part of The 2013 World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
Ducasse, who has spent decades perfecting haute cuisine, was awarded three Michelin stars back when he was just 33 years old for his work at Le Louis XV restaurant at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco.
The chef is regarded as a visionary and leader. His pupils include Italian chef Carlo Cracco and Jean-Louis Nomicos.
Biting The Big Apple
Before our excitement about Ducasse's award has time to wear off we had the wonderful opportunity of interviewing another great chef. This time we spoke to Daniel Humm, chef at New York's Eleven Madison Park.
Eleven Madison Park has three Michelin stars and forms part of the top ten restaurants on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list. We sat down to chat with Humm about his many accomplishments.

A Tribute To Pavarotti
This year is being hailed as the International Year of Italian Culture in the United States. As part of the numerous celebrations throughout the year, the great Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti was honored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna this week.
Pavarotti was an unforgettable man who shaped classical music. His everlasting talent is being displayed on limited edition bottles of S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna that will be distributed to fine restaurants around the world. This way the gran Maestro will continue to live on.
