This week FDL celebrated The World's 50 Best Restaurans awards in London, took a culinary tour of Moscow and explored the tasty history of ham.

The Best Restaurant In The World Is...

This week began with the celebration of The World's 50 Best Restaurants list sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna. On Monday, we live streamed the awards ceremony from London to announce El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain was the big winner of the evening.

Brothers Joan, Josep and Jordi Roca were radiant with joy as you can see in this video from the event. Their three-Michelin starred restaurant took the place of René Redzepi's Noma, which had ranked first for the past three years.

It's an exciting time for The Roca Brothers who are gearing up to present their culinary opera El Somni this week.

Taking A Bite Out of Moscow

From London we moved on to Russia for a city tasting tour of Moscow. It turns out that the historic Russian capital is full of culinary gems.

The restaurant scene is booming and offers something for everyone, from haute cuisine to casual dining. Restaurants to be on the lookout for include Shektel, Art Clumba and Winzavod.

There are plenty of gastro markets and a push for sustainable foods. Check out what else we discovered in the very enchanting city of Moscow.
