Asia's 50 Best Restaurants
This week Fine Dining Lovers were in Singapore bringing you all the action from the announcement of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants List for 2014, sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
The ceremony was packed with chefs from all over the world and it was David Thompson at Nahm Restaurant in Bangkok that was picked as the best in Asia.
We brought you quotes from all the big winners on the night, the full list and the event told as a social story.
From Asia we travelled to Latin America for an interview with the Peruvian chef Gaston Acurio. Acurio spoke with us about his latest project in Lima and how he plans to open a university there this year.
He also looked ahead to the future of Latin American cuisine and told us why he thinks that the best is yet to come.
This sets up a series on FDL that will focus on some of the young Peruvian chefs doing amazing things with food, from secret dinners on butcher’s tables to trips with local farmers on a mission to discover new ingredients.
Appliance of Science
We also took a look at the scientific process behind cheese production and how, with a detailed approach, you can actually make your own cheese at home.
The piece includes step by step instructions on how to make your own cheese at home with scientific breakdowns on exactly what temperatures need to be employed for optimum cheese.
Take a look.
