Food art for everyone: the 5th edition of Foodphoto Festival is about to start in Vejle, Denmark where from the 4th until the 7th of June food photography will take the stage with a series of workshops and conferences followed by an exhibition open to the public from the 8th to 30th of June.

Foodphoto Festival is an initiative of the German food photographer Günter Beer. Taking place every other year, the Festival is one of the largest and most important international exhibition and conference of contemporary food photography that brings together photography professionals from all over the world giving plenty of opportunities to meet fellow professionals, exchange knowledge and learn about the art of food photography, while exhibiting selected works to the general public.

The programme of the festival is full of inspiring conferences, hands-on workshops, pechakucha presentations, portfolio reviews, shared experience sessions and panel discussions. On friday night, 7th June, the “FOODPHOTO on Stage” award ceremony will crown the winners of this edition, chosen by the selected and qualified jury.

This year attendants from over 24 countries, including Australia, South Africa, USA, Russia, Vietnam and all of Europe, will be brought together in Vejle. From the 8th of June, the city will host the Foodphoto Art Exhibition, that comprises in total over 1000 photographs and photo projections of 106 international photographers and stylists selected by curator and festival founder Günter Beer. Thereof the works of 17 photographers including 250 images will be shown in a framed exhibition while the others will be presented as photo projections at the exhibition venue. The exhibition will be open for the general public in a beautiful old theater building in the center of Vejle.

Moreover, the photographers in the exhibition have kindly donated some of their work to support the Feeding Project of the Stairway Foundation: founded by Lars C. Jorgensen, it's keen on nurturing a feeding program in Philippines dedicated to children, trying to help them build a better life for themselves and their families.
