Food Scans, a Year of Seasonal Ingredients | Gallery

Food Scans is the new photographic project by Henry Hargreaves in collaboration with Caitlin Levin: organized by month, it showcases the beauty of nature.

As we like his work so much, we've featured photographer Henry Hargreaves several times before (here you can read an interview with him).

Today we're highlighting Food Scans, the new food-related project he created in collaboration with Caitlin Levin: the series showcases the beauty and bounty of seasonal fruits and vegetables throughout the year. Organized by month, the project simply places food on the scanner: enabling us to see every curve, nook, and cranny in incredible detail.

As you can see in the gallery at the top of the page, every month seasonal fruits and vegetables - from fava to figs, tomatoes to chives - are scanned and mirrored creating surrealist compositions.
