Fashion Week kicks off in Milan today, September 18th, with the city full of eccentric designers, long-legged models and catwalk fashion shows throughout. It's a week of buzz, trends, color and excitement - a time when Italy's fashion capital really does turn up a gear and spring to life.
On top of the crews and staff entering Milan over fashion week is a mix of buyers, journalists and fashion lovers visiting the city to sample a taste of the coming fashion trends for 2014 and while here, they'll also have the chance to sample food from some of Milan's famous restaurants run by designers.
Gold by Dolce & Gabbana, the Bulgari restaurant run by the famous Italian Jeweler, Maison Moschino with a menu developed by Moreno Cedroni and of course the Armani restaurant and hotel in Manzoni - to name just a few.
With all the extra events and large crowds in the city it can difficult to decide exactlly where to eat so to help you on the way FDL caught up with some of Milan's most creative chefs to ask them where visitors should eat during fashion week. Here's what they had to say:
Matteo Baronetto - Cracco Restaurant
The Japanese Restaurant IYO. I really love an oriental kitchen and I think this place is very elegant and clean, in Italy it is not so easy to eat great Japanese.
Not really in Milan but near Lodi, in San Colombano, there is a restaurant called Giardino. It's a Trattoria that's very simple and very well done. The food is really well cooked and the price is also good.
The third is Trussardi alla Scala with chef Luigi Taglienti. He is very good and the Trussardi Family is very important to Milan - here you can sample great food and all the family history.

Matias Perdomo - Al Pont De Ferr
Mangiare di Strada. For me it goes directly to the essence of the product and it really hits the core. They run a very clean and transparent kitchen. This place is full of honest Italian cooking.
I also like Luigi Taglienti at Trussardi alla Scala and Matteo Baronetto at Cracco.
