Meet the International Top Jury of S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2016
The jurors have been named: Gaggan Anand, Elena Arzak, Mauro Colagreco, Carlo Cracco, Wylie Dufresne, David Higgs e Roberta Sudbrack are the seven top international chefs that will select the winner of S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2016, a prestigious competition for young culinary professionals launched by S.Pellegrino.
Known as the Seven Sages, this top-notch jury will judge the signature dishes of 20 finalists from all corners of the world who will go head to head for the title of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2016.
Ahead of the big event, which will take place, here are the bios of the grand chefs who will decide the fate of a talented young up-and-coming culinary star.

Gaggan restaurant, Thailand
His eponymous restaurant opened in 2010 and was crowned the best restaurant in Asia, in Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list, in both 2015 and 2016. Anand has consecrated himself as one of the most interesting chefs in Asia. His dishes are a magnificent blend of Indian traditions reinterpreted with a modern and creative twist.
Arzak restaurant, Spain
Along with her father Juan Mari, Elena heads the Michelin-starred Arzak, a restaurant that revolutionized Basque cuisine. In 2012, she was named the World’s Best Female Chef in the 2012 World's 50 Best Restaurants awards.
Mirazur restaurant, France
Argentinian by birth but French by adoption, at just 31 years of age Mauro Colagreco garnered his first Michelin start at his restaurant Mirazur in the lovely Cote d'Azur town of Mentone. In 2012, he received his second Michelin star.
Cracco restaurant, Italy
A student of Gualtiero Marchesi and Alain Ducasse, Carlo Cracco is without a doubt one of the best haute cuisine chefs in Italy and the rest of the world. His restaurant has two Michelin stars and is one of the most highly regarded restaurants in Milan.
Considered one of the best modernist chefs in the United States, Dufresne was named best chef in New York by the James Beard Foundation in 2013. In 2014, he closed his famous restaurant wd~50 to open a new venture: a restaurant called Alder that is schedule to open in Spring 2016.
Named the Eat Out S.Pellegrino Chef of the Year in 2013, David Higgs has been lauded for his work at restaurant Five Hundred located inside the Saxon Hotel in Johannesburg. Always on the hunt for culinary talent the chef opened his own school: the Higgs School of Good Cooking.
Roberta Sudbrack restaurant, Brazil
After working in the Brazilian presidential kitchens, chef Roberta Sudbrack opened her own restaurant in 2008. Since then it has been hailed as one of the best restaurants in Rio De Janeiro. Great technique and skilled use of native ingredients are what made Sudbrack be recognized as Latin America's Best Female Chef in 2015.
