Oven baked sweet potatoes are perfect as a warm and tasty side: try this recipe for sweet potatoes au gratin prepared with pecan nuts.

Preparation

Heat the oven to 200°C (180°C in a fan oven), gas 6 and grease one large baking dish or four ramekins.

Cook the potatoes in salt water for around 20 minutes until almost done.

Peel them, leave to cool slightly and then slice them.

Layer the potato slices in the dish.

Mix together the orange juice and the maple syrup and season with salt and ground black pepper.

Drizzle over the potatoes and sprinkle with the butter and the nuts.

Bake for 15 minutes.
