Spicy cranberry apple chutney recipe
To prepare spicy cranberry apple chutney first put the apples, cranberries and onions into a large heavy-based pan.
Tie the whole spices in muslin and put into the pan with the mixed spice and vinegar.
Cover the pan tightly and and cook gently for 15 minutes.
Stir well and simmer, uncovered until the fruit is soft.
Add the sugar and stir until dissolved.
Cook steadily until the chutney is thick.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Remove the muslin bag.
Spoon the spicy cranberry apple chutney into hot sterilised jars, cover, seal and label.
