How to prepare a warm and tasty polenta, gluten free and easy recipe perfect as a Winter appetizer: try the gluten free polenta dish mafe with ham and Parmesan.

Heat the water and milk in a large pan and bring to a boil.
Gradually trickle the polenta into the hot milk in the pan, stirring constantly.
Add the butter, salt and pepper to taste and simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring, until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
Heat the oven to 200°C (180° fan) gas 6.
Grease 4-6 small baking dishes.
Stir the garlic and ham into the polenta.
Spread 1/3 of the polenta mixture in the bottom of the dishes, sprinkle half the cheese on top.
Add the next third of the polenta, sprinkle with the remaining cheese and cover with the last of the polenta.
Bake for about 20 minutes until golden.
