First they were chefs, then they became a couple, and now they are farmers, restaurateurs and owners of a guest house in northern Italy. Carol Choi and Francesco Scarrone met while working at Christian Puglisi’s Relæ restaurant in Copenhagen. It was there that they developed a passion for growing produce and, inspired by Puglisi’s Farm of Ideas, they decided to embark on a project of their own. The result is Rantan, a restaurant, micro-farm and experiment in agro-gastronomic tourism, where guests can enjoy sustainable homegrown food in a stone-built house nestled in a sun-kissed valley just an hour’s drive from Turin.
