If you’re searching for the best pizza in America, the 50 Top Pizza USA 2025 list is a solid place to start. The Italian-born ranking, one of the most recognized pizza guides globally, has just announced its latest results, crowning Una Pizza Napoletana in New York as the best pizzeria in the United States for the third time. The organization also named the top pizza-by-the-slice spots in the country and handed out several special awards recognizing excellence in categories from fried food to cocktail lists.
What Is 50 Top Pizza?
50 Top Pizza is an annual guide published by a team of inspectors who evaluate pizzerias anonymously across the United States and worldwide. According to the organization, inspections focus on “the overall attention given to the customer’s wellbeing, beginning of course with the quality of the final product.”
“Year after year we are noticing changes in pizzerias across the United States,” say the guide’s curators Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro, and Albert Sapere, “that have led to increasingly interesting ideas and that are good for the entire industry. We would also like to mention that the different styles of pizza that our inspectors get to enjoy are also getting more numerous, this is a good thing because it creates a wider variety for the customer.”

The 2025 50 Top Pizza USA winners were announced on July 1st at the West Edge, inside Chelsea Market in New York City. The ceremony, hosted by Scott Wiener of Scott’s Pizza Tours, was broadcast live on the guide’s social media channels.
Una Pizza Napoletana, led by Anthony Mangieri in New York, retained the number one spot for the third time, confirming its status as “a true benchmark for quality pizza in America.” Pizzeria Sei in Los Angeles, run by William Joo, took second place, while Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco, from legendary pizzaiolo Tony Gemignani, secured third.
