Visit Eatopia at London Design Biennale 2016
Head to the Taiwan pavilion at London's international design fair, where food will be the talking point.
Design–loving food fans will be able to get their fill at Somerset House during the London Design Biennale from 7 - 27 September in the Taiwanese installation: Eatopia. With over 30 countries participating under the theme of "Utopia by design", the Taiwan team have chosen to interpret the vision of a fictional future society through food designed to offer up food for thought to visitors.
Celebrating "diversity in the pursuit of a utopian state," Eatopia is a "series of immersive and conceptually led culinary performances exploring historical incidents of Taiwanese cultural integration between different ethnic and cultural groups."
Visitors will be offered a unique culinary experience set in a tranquil forest–like setting, where the community eat a plentiful three meals a day that "play a crucial part in creating the ideal society's strong social bond and melting pot of identities."
Eatopia will tour Hong Kong and Taipei in October 2016.
