
Vermont Farms Will Open Up to Visitors During Farm Week
A selection of livestock and arable farms will be opening their gates encourage visitors to get back to food basics.
Prepare to don your wellies, roll up your sleeves and muck in during Vermont's open farm week when almost 90 farms in the region will open their gates to visitors from 15 to 21 August.
In an area with a rich farm offering including; beef cattle, dairy, pigs, turkeys, eggs, apples, honey, and maple syrup, there will be plenty of diversity to interest, educate and entertain depending on your favourite food or farm attraction from arable to livestock.
So whether you've ever dreamt of milking a cow, making cheese or just getting back to farm basics and connecting with your local farming community and understanding where and howyour food comes from, this looks like the ideal time to do it.
A number of special events will be hosted by the farms during Open Farm Week. From learning about how maple syrup's made to wagon tours and farm tastings. Here's the list.
