Top Italian Chefs Unite in Paestum with Euro-Toques
On May 16 and 17, the great Italian chefs of Euro-Toques, the prestigious international association, will meet in Paestum, Southern Italy.
Top Italian chefs will gather in the southern Italian town of Salerno in Paestum, on Monday 16 and Tuesday May 17, for the Congress of Euro-Toques Italy, the prestigious food association chaired by Enrico Derflingher.
Originally founded in 1986 by legendary Lyonnaise chef, Paul Bocuse, Euro-Toques International is a European association borne out of the desire to combine the best European chefs with a secure platform to share knowledge and protect local culinary skills, food and ingredients. Today, under the banner of Euro-Toques – the only gourmet association recognised by the European Union – are 3000 chefs from 28 European countries (including Turkey).
The congress officially starts on Monday 16 May at 6pm at the Savoy Beach Hotel Paestum, with a panel discussion on the Mediterranean diet and the role of cooks in health and food security.
Participating in the meeting will be the Minister of Agriculture, Maurizio Martina, the Governors of Campania Vincenzo De Luca, Vittorio Sgarbi, Professor at Ettore Novellino, the president of Fipe - Conf commercio Lindo Stoppani, Enrico Derflingher and the director of a Tavola Italian, Alberto Lupini. An evening gala dinner will be dedicated to the Mediterranean diet, with chef dishes from Campania to celebrate a trio of ingredients: wheat, tomato and olive oil.
On Tuesday 17 May a meeting of the board of directors Euro Toques Italy will take place, followed by the General Assembly.
