Small Scale Producers to Be Championed at One Off Expo Event

Some big questions have been asked in Milan in the last few months. As host of EXPO 2015 the city has become a world platform in the global dilemma of how we are going to feed ourselves in the future.

Although the end of October will see the EXPO close, there is no sign of the intensity of the fair abating. On the 3-6 October Slow Food and the Slow Food Youth Network will take up the reins for a special four day event entitled ‘'Terra Madre Giovani - We Feed The Planet'.

The four-days look set to be inspiring and solution orientated as young farmers, producers, food experts and enthusiasts discuss and share their ideas about feeding the planet under the EXPO spotlight.

Around 2000 small-scale young producers from around the world are expected to gather in Milan, 'we want to show to the world who really feeds the planet' (the theme of this year’s Expo) the team say. They are currently raising travel funds and encouraging sponsors to ensure farmers from more rural and distant locations are able to attend.

Through workshops, debates and lectures combined with good food, dancing and drinks this is set to be an educative and memorable event.

Keynote Speakers will include Raj Patel, Carlo Petrini and Alice Waters.
