Passion för Mat: Sweden's Epic Food Festival Is Coming Soon

The cuisine of Sweden's West Coast will be on display at the annual Passion for Food Festival (Passion för Mat). Mat is the Swedish word for food and they'll be plenty of it to sample when the three-day festival kicks off on February 27th. 

Foodies and chefs will convene in Gothenburg, declared Sweden's culinary capital back in 2012, to enjoy a fun-filled weekend celebrating local seafood and produce, Michelin-starred delicacies and fine wine and spirits. There will be cooking classes, micro-seminars, wine tastings and dozens of exhibitors selling artisan and organic goods.

A highlight of the festival is the cook-off between four of Sweden’s top chefs, including Gothenburg's Leif Mannerström, who previously ran the Michelin-star restaurant Sjömagasinet.
