Outstanding In The Field at Coachella 2019: An Oasis of Civility
Outstanding in a Field is a chef hosted dinner in the VIP Rose Garden at Coachella. A four course meal with local Californian wine it's an oasis of calm.
If food really is the new rock’n’roll then the coolest side stage to hit at weekend two of Coachella 2019 is a four course dinner, presented by award-wining chefs and showcasing the best of local produce from the Coachella Valley.
Coachella has a host of good festival food options. The Indio Central Market returns with the likes of David Chang’s loaded fries from Fuku and The Al Pastor vegan tacos from Vegatinos for hungry revellers. However, if street food or fast casual won’t cut the mustard for you then OSITF will hit the sweet spot of cocktail + four course meal + Californian wine.
The first weekend of Outstanding in the Field was a resounding success and the VIP dining area offers an oasis of civility from the gathering hordes at the music festival. Dinner is served at 6pm, as the sun starts to hang low in the sky and queues form for headliners. The event concludes in time for guests to still catch the main acts.
This weekend will feature dinners on three nights with chefs from California’s fine dining scene. Friday will see Adam Sobel from Cal Mare & Ray Garcia of Broken Spanish & B.S. Taqueria cook for guests. Saturday the menu is by Susan Feniger & Mary Sue Milliken of Border Grill and Sunday| Jason Neroni, of The Rose Venice is taking over.
If you’re a foodie as well as a Muso and you’re looking for an escape from the heaving festival crowds to something a lot more intimate and grown-up then the OSITF dinner is a perfect way to slow the pace of the evening down and enjoy the finer things in life in the VIP Rose Garden, before cutting loose.
