If you love reading about food, head to Brooklyn this weekend. That is where the first ever Food Book Fair will be held from 4th- 6th of May. The one-of-a-kind event celebrates food writing, reading and activism while bringing together authors of food publications from around the world.
Featured participants include renown author/nutritionist Dr. Marion Nestle, author of Why Calories Count and Food Politics; Harold McGee, author of On Food and Cooking: The Science and Lore of the Kitchen, and Carolyn Steel, author of Hungry City: How Food Shapes Our Lives. Featured publications include Lucky Peach, a magazine by David Chang, whose restaurant Momofuku Ssam Bar ranked 37th on the World's 50 Best Restaurants 2012 list.
Topics that will be explored at the Food Book Fair include the relationship between food and art, food and technology, and food porn, among others. The fair will be held at the Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, which is conveniently located near the Brooking Flea and Smorgasburg, two venues with a bustling craft food shopping scene.
