LA FÊTE DE LA GASTRONOMIE: Food Festival Across France

Over 10,000 food events are to be held across France in celebration of french cuisine and gastronomy. We have the lowdown on Paris, Tours, Lyon and Dijon.

The Festival of Gastronomy returns to France for its fifth edition. From September 25 to 27, chefs will take to the streets of France to celebrate and champion French cuisine. This year's theme is, "Creativity and courage," led by the culinary godmother Anne-Sophie Pic, the only woman in the world to achieve a triple star in the Michelin Guide.

Launched in 2011 under the initiative of MP Frederic Lefebre, the nationwide event is intended to encourage participation from food enthusiasts and the general public all over the country, while being moderated by industry professionals. "It is above all a friendly and generous event, a moment of encounter," explained the former Secretary of State. The result is three full days of cooking workshops, tastings and demonstrations throughout France to celebrate the art of French living.

Last year's festival celebrated with a massive 10,000 events across France and this year's festival is set to be equally impressive.

Fine Dining Lovers has selected the activities not to be missed in the gastronomic cities of Paris, Lyon, Dijon and Tours.
