The Kitchen Takeover Series Returns to Maggie Joan's in Singagpore
Turkish chef Maksut Askar will be preparing an exclusive menu of "new" Anatolian cuisine at Maggie Joan's on 24 and 25 February. Here's the tempting menu.
Maggie Joan's Kitchen Takeovers returns to Singpore in 2017 with the Turkish chef and owner of the renowned Istanbul restaurant Neolokal, Maksut Aşkar, who will be cooking up a two night exclusive menu on 24 and 25 February 2017.
Forming part of an exciting series designed to "preserve tradition and culture through gastronomy ", Chef Aşkar will present his "new" Anatolian cuisine to diners in Singapore at Maggie Joan's, focusing on traditional Turkish home recipes and flavours with contemporary interpretations.
Askar's menu will feature an exclusive curation of Neolokal classics, such as slow cooked Üveyik, an ancient Turkish wheat that Askar has cultivated, which is cooked for seven hours with leeks and onions.
Speaking about the event Maggie Joan's co-owner Darren Micallef says: “We are very much on the same page. Maksut derives his dishes from home cooking which complements us – how we are inspired by our grandmothers to provide warm and generous hospitality.”
