The Presidential, the former Portuguese State train that takes a select group of guests on a winding gastronomic tour of Northern Portugual’s Alto Duoro wine region is to return for an autumn ‘Harvest’ edition.
The train will embark on a nine hour return journey from Porto along the Duoro river twice a weekend from the end of September through October, with a different esteemed Portuguese or Portugal-based chefs on board each week to cook for 60 lucky passengers.
The chefs for the Harvest edition are Pedro Lemos (Eponymous, Porto), Vitor Matos (Antiqvvm, Porto) and Miguel Rocha Vieira (Costes, Budapest), who each hold a Michelin star at their respective restaurants, Sarajevo-born Ljubomir Stanisic, of Lisbon’s 100 Maneiras, Vasco Coelho Santos (Euskalduna Studio, Porto) and João Oliveira (Vista, Portimão).
Tickets cost €500 per person and include return train journey to and from Porto’s São Bento station, a four course lunch with wines, exclusive access to the Quinta do Vesúvio wine estate, including Port tasting, and onboard entertainment.
