France to Celebrate Gastronomy Nationwide
From 22 to 24 September chefs, gourmands, producers and farmers will celebrate gastronomy across the hexagon with over 10,000 events planned. Take a look.
In a country like France, whose culinary reputation goes before it, it's only natural that the nation's world renowned gastronomy has the chance to be celebrated annually, in "Fête de la Gastronomie."
This year's eclectic selection of food centered events are due to unfold across the country from 22 to 24 September, where France will well and truly set the stage with numerous meals, tastings and visits to some exceptional places.
Set to attract a staggering two to three million visitors to over 10,000 food events spread over three days, each will be an opportunity to capture the conviviality, pleasure and the joy surrounding French culture and gastronomy.
Fête de la Gastronomie 2017: The Produce
Each year includes a different sponsor, this year's is Stéphane Layani, who highlights the place of the product in making good food: "Without good products, we can not make good dishes .. I want to put the product at the center of the table and, with it, to promote the whole food chain, which begins with farmers and producers to whom we owe a lot, we must respect them: it is a difficult job to feed us everyday, "he reminds us.
Chefs and craftsmen will get the chance to put the emphasis onto the product and invite the French to help with local products and recipes through popular banquets, picnics and workshops.
Local and national museums will also be on hand and will open their doors for pedagogical paths around the heritage of tableware.
