Film and Gastronomy Unite at 'Culinary Zinema'

Film and food buffs are in for a sensorial treat at this year's San Sebastian Film Festival, in a fusion of themed dinners, top chefs and cinema.

This internationally prestigious film festival combines film with the culinary wealth of one of the regions with the highest concentration of Michelin stars in the world, that is San Sebastian, Spain, making it a must in any foodie's calendar.

Devoted to cinema and gastronomy, 'Culinary Zinema' will include 17 international foodie films, with 4 short films and 13 feature films. From Danish film, Noma, My Perfect Storm, featuring Redzepi's story and directed by Pierre Deschamps, to Spanish film, Cooking up a Tribute with Luis Gonzalez and Andrea Gomez. Head to the festival website for full listings and details.

Seven of the films will be screened along with themed dinners from internationally acclaimed chefs. Andoni Luis Aduriz, from the Mugaritz, will prepare the opening dinner, the Roca brothers from El Celler de Can Roca along with a chef of their choice will be in charge of the closing dinner.

Other chefs participating throughout the week include Mikel Gallo, Rubén Trincado and members of the Nove Group galician association. More chefs are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets for the joint “Culinary Zinema” screening and dinner event will go on sale on September 1, at a price of €67.20.
