Feast Your Eyes on New Foodie Art Tour in New York

Foodies with a love of art can now join a custom foodie-art tour at the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York that allows visitors to reflect on the connection between food in art.

In a guided private tour, devised by Art Smart,  foodies will be taken on an explorative journey through The Metropolitan Museum of Art, examining the context of food throughout time and across cultures in a number of food paintings and sculptures. 

From the basic beer and bread days of Ancient Egypt to the lavish European dinner parties and Absinthe swilling days of the bohemian cafe society in the Parisian Impressionist the tour even touches on modern cocktail culture and more.

It's a whistlestop tour through some important defining moments in time captured captured through food in art, or vice versa. Those that build up a thirst during the two tour can add on a private tailored wine tasting to finish.
