'Do Something Reel' Film Festival
'Do Something Reel' Film Festival
The combination of film, food, and eco-mindedness is becoming increasingly popular
Launched last March in Texas, the Do Something Reel Festival is an initiative from the Whole Foods Market, the nation’s leading seller of organic and sustainable food.
It’s a tour of 70 American cities, in which six provocative videos were presented – each one about food – and used as a platform for opening up discussion about the environment, sustainable ideas and concepts for everyday life.
«We see film as an inspirational medium that can spark an active dialogue and encourage people to take action locally,» says the co-CEO of Whole Foods Market, Walter Robb. «Through our Whole Foods Market Do Something Reel Film Festival we want to raise awareness of environmental and food issues, and support filmmakers who are creating films that inspire people to question the impact our choices have on our health, body and environment.» While waiting for the next edition, here you can find more information about the movies from the first edition.
