What is Dining Week?
Dining Week started out in 2011 and was launched to re-invigorate dining out in one of the slowest restaurant weeks of the year. Its success speaks for itself and it has since spread to the whole country and now includes more than 250 restaurants nationwide and over 100,000 Danes eating out during week 7.
“Dining Week has been a breath of fresh air to restaurants. February has always been a slow selling month for restaurants because so many Danes go abroad for their winter break. Now, week 7 is one of the busiest weeks of the year for the restaurateurs with more people dining out than ever before, and many restaurants have increased their turnover. It is also a great opportunity for restaurants to promote themselves and show their skills because guests share their dining experience with friends and on social media, so the viral exposure is massive,” founder Bjoern Beyer explains.
Cocktail Week
To celebrate Dining Week’s 10-year anniversary the festival has also added "cocktail week" designed to encourage guests into one of many Copenhagen bars offering two cocktails at the price of one.
