Once again this year the Cous Cous Fest is back! The event that celebrates couscous as a symbol of peace, exchange and integration, will take place in San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily from 20 to 29 September.
Now in its twenty-second year, the Sicilian event will come alive, as always, with tastings, show cooking and challenges between chefs from different countries.
There will be moments of music and entertainment: Noemi, Boomdabash and Mahmood are among the performing artists, while other guests include - dj Ringo, Sasà Selvaggio and Gino Strada.
COUSCOUS FEST | THE PROGRAM
This year's Cous Cous Festival will once again see Michelin starred chefs and some important names in gastronomy championing couscous in the kitchen.
New for the 2019 edition is the Bia Theater, an outdoor theatre in Piazza Santuario where show cooking will take place with chefs like Filippo La Mantia, Chiara Maci, Giorgione, Sergio Barzetti and Andy Luotto taking to the stage.
Also taking place in Piazza Santuario will be the Cous Cous Fest World Championship. The famous international competition dedicated to couscous, where couscous creations will be evaluated by a popular jury and a jury of experts, chaired by journalists Enzo and Paolo Vizzari.

The battle of the grains will be divided into two phases: the Italian championship, to select the chef who will be part of the Italian team and the world championship, where chefs from all over the globe will challenge each other.
Who will win the 2019 challenge?
Last year, the Tunisian team took gold with Nabil Bakouss's recipe from Michelin-starred restaurant Joia in Milan, assisted by chefs Youssef Abdelli and Lamjed Hosni.
Also, don't miss the tastings: guests will be able to choose from about thirty variations on a theme, from meat recipes to fish recipes and vegetarian preparations.
Recipes from around the world can be tasted at the Casa del Cous Cous dal Mondo (in via Regina Margherita), while North African recipes will be the protagonists at Casa del Cous Cous Sapori and Dintorni del Mediterraneo. At the Casa del Cous Cous in San Vito Lo Capo (in piazza Carlo Barbera) you can taste local recipes in the home of couscous.
