Classical Music, Tuscan Wine and Architecture: ''Melody of Wine''
Tuscany will host an exciting festival that blends classical music, Tuscan wine and excellence in architecture. The Melodia del Vino will kick off June 27th.
From June 27th to July 6th, the region of Tuscany will be the stage for Melodia del Vino (Melody of Wine), a leading classical music festival held in Tuscan wineries designed by great architects.
The festival, whose main sponsor this year is Acqua Panna, was modeled after the French event Grand Crus Musicaux. It will take place across the provinces of Siena, Tuscany, Livorno, Florence and Grosseto where participants will discover the most prestigious wine estates in the area.
Master Marc Laforet is the artistic director of the festival and both he and his friend Michel Gotlib are the creators of this unique format that combines wine tasting in classical music concerts performed by international excellence.

The third edition of the festival will kick off at Bargino, a municipality of San Casciano Val di Pesa. Visitors will congregate at the prestigious Antinori Winery designed by Marco Casamonti. The winery opened in October 2012 and perfectly blends in with the environment and the surrounding landscape. There the first of five scheduled concerts will be held.
Ukranian pianist Alexander Romanovsky will inaugurate the festival with a performance on June 27th. Romanovsky has been performing since the age of 11 and has was played in all of Northern Europe. On June 29th in Petra Winery, designed by Mario Botta, guests will attend the performance of Francois René Duchable, another internationally renowned pianist who in 2003 had decided to stop performing.
On July 2th, the Castello Poggio alle Mura Banfi di Montalcino will host a piano and cello concert (the view from the castle's pool is pictured up top).  Marc Laforet will be at the piano while Henri Demarquette plays the cello.
On July 4th, Beatrice Rana, a renown 25-year old Italian pianist, will play in the Tenuta Rocca di Montemassi Roccastrada. The final concert will be held on July 6th in the cellar designed by Renzo Piano in Gavorrano in the Tenuta Rocca di Frassinello. That evening Giovanni Bellucci, one of the most influential pianists in the world, will entertain the audience.
