California is celebrating in style this month with gourmet food, wine and music events: here are details of two not-to-miss large outdoor events this July.
CALIFORNIA WINE FESTIVAL
The first in the calendar is the 12th Annual California Wine Festival in Santa Barbara. Taking place from 16th to 18th of July this is expected to be one of the largest outdoor wine festivals in the state. A quintessentially Californian event, hundreds of California’s finest vintage wines will feature as well as a variety of gourmet appetizers including artisan breads, cheeses, olive oils more. The signature event will be held on Saturday 18th where hundreds of premium California wines will be served up along with the best of the regional microbreweries, local top chefs, food purveyors and vendors of all things related to wine.
Other fun activities include:
- Live acoustic music each evening
- Flamenco dancing
- Silent auction of fine wines and magnums

Napa Valley Festival Del Sol
Celebrating it’s 10th anniversary this year Napa valley festival del Sol promises to be even bigger and better. Starting on the 17th July and lasting 10 days this festival is a lively fusion of music, wine and food.
The signature food event ‘Taste of Napa’ will be held on Saturday the 18th, introducing an exciting new culinary competition in 'town versus country'. Three Napa chefs and three chefs from San Francisco will battle it out to create appetizers, entrees and desserts with just 10 ingredients in celebration of the 10th season.
Wine will feature heavily in the schedule with tastings from over 30 wineries alongside food artisans and restaurants.
