The Biggest Cheese Festival in the World Comes to Cheshire
The International Cheese Awards unfold in the UK on 26 & 27 July with cheeses from over 31 countries due to compete for a title.
As all cheese lovers will know, cheese is serious business, and no more so than at the annual International Cheese Awards held in Cheshire. Taking place over two days, on 26 & 27 July, this is the biggest cheese festival in the world giving a realistic snapshot of what is a massive thriving industry for cheese manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers and cheese aficionado's.
This year will have a lot to live up to with last year's show setting a world record with 4,615 cheese and dairy produce entries from a record 31 countries. There will be a category for most types of cheese you can think of ranging from 'Single Farmhouse Cheddar Block' or obscure ‘Vegetarian Blue Cheese’ to the specialist ‘Best 100% Artisan Goats cheese.'
Housed inside the giant Cheese Marquee, visitors will just need to follow their nose to the cheese emporium where the cheeses go on sale post judging on day two. Alongside the cheese competitions will be chefs James Martin, Will Holland & Sean Wilson whipping up some cheesy creations throughout the day in Le Gruyere Cookery Theatre.
