Wanting to establish itself as anual destination for Easter celebrations, the city of Bilbao is launching the first-ever Basque Fest this week.
From March 28-31 the city will host the festival in several locations throughout the city, including the famed Ribera Market.
Participants can admire works of modern art, sample gastronomic delicacies, enjoy live music, dance and street theatre. There will be entertainment for children, including crafts and sports.
Bilbao is the capital of the province of Biscay, an autonomous community of the Basque Country. The region is home to San Sebastián, the city with the most Michelin stars per square foot.
The Basque country is also home to Mugaritz and Arzak, two Michelin starred restaurants that rank third and eigth on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, which sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
