Afternoon Tea with a Difference is Served at The Langham Hotel
The Langham, Hong Kong, have launched a socially responsible afternoon tea in their elegant Palm Court restaurant. See the tempting treats.
Throughout the month of March the Palm Court at The Langham, Hong Kong, will be serving a traditional affternoon tea with a twist. Home to afternoon tea since 1865 the refined restaurant steeped in tradition will pay homage to socially traded organic and Fair Trade ingredients with a specially designed Eco Friendly Afternoon Tea.
“There is great work being done to encourage sustainable living and we have an opportunity to create social and environmental values. Paving a sustainable future for food is necessary for society and our business,” said Executive Chef Pedro Samper.
Chef Samper sourced different social enterprises that specialise in producing organic ingredients and Fair Trade products. Imported from Guatemala to Ghana, and India to Vietnam, the organic components come from small local growers from around the world.
Sweet sensations on the menu include Organic Zhejiang Green Tea and Lychee Mousse (find the recipe here), Caramel and Organic Fair Trade Guatemala Coffee Dome with Roasted Hazelnuts (find the recipe here) and Organic Philippines Mango Cake with Sustainably Farmed Raspberries (find the recipe here) to name but a few.
The green experience is complemented by a selection of organic beverages, including English Breakfast Tea, Earl Grey and Cocoa certified by Fair Trade and 100% Arabica bean brewed coffee served in tailor-made wedgewood Langham Rose ware.
