The countdown begins: it is now officially one month to go until the World's 50 Best Restaurants are selected and presented to the world.
The event, sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, launches on the 30th April and will see some of the world's best chefs descend on London's Guild Hall to find out which restaurants will be crowned best in the world.
The award ceremony will be a glamorous event attended by all the major players in the food and drink industry and FDL will live stream the entire ceremony for a second year in a row.
Last year saw Rene Redzepi (in the picture, during 2011 event) take top spot for the second year consecutively and many online are asking whether the Danish chef, who recently became one of the only chefs in history to feature on the cover of Times Magazine, can win for a third year in a row.
Previous winning chefs include Heston Blumenthal, Thomas Keller and the Spanish chef, Ferran Adrià has won it five times for his work at the elBulli restaurant in Spain.
Who will take top spot this year is still unknown but it's certain that by watching the FDL 50 Best Restaurants live stream you'll be among the first in the world to find out.
