Gourmet safaris, master classes from the world's best chefs, experimental wine tasting and even a tea appreciation class. Just some of the events planned for the 2011 World Gourmet Summit in Singapore.
Now in it's 15th year the summit is designed to celebrate gastronomic excellence throughout the world and shine a spotlight on some of the most internationally acclaimed vintners. There are two weeks worth of events planed starting on the 25th April and finishing on the 8th May.
One of the most exciting features for any fine dining lover seem to be the culinary master-classes on offer. Priced at $68 for a master class and $148 for a workshop - these classes are a must for anyone who wants to wow their next dinner party guests with high quality cuisine of top restaurant standard. There will be a number of Michelin stared chefs at the summit including three starred chefs Luisa Valazza from the Al Sorriso Restaurant in Italy - Bruno Menard from L'Osier in Tokyo and two starred chef Norbert Niederkofler from Hubertus in San Cassiano, Italy.
A number of Asian masters-chefs will also exhibit skills and cuisine - Edward Kwon, Yim jung Sik Dang and the one Michelin starred chefs Tam Kwok Fung from the City of Dreams restaurant in Macau and Manish Mehrotra from the Indian Accent restaurant in New Delhi - all of whom will showcase their native, home cuisines.
The summit is supported by the Singapore tourism board and aims to showcase Asian cuisine as a leader of unique culinary wonders.
