Thrillist have gathered a gang of chefs to ask them for some of their favourite food quotes of kitchen wisdom.

The chefs were each asked for quotes they use to motivate their crews, give inspiration and generally kick up the energy of the kitchen with a simple statement.

There’s 18 chefs featured in the piece with each one offering their own inspirational quotes - such as Jimmy Bannos Jr. at the The Purple Pig in Chicago and his “make it nice, not twice” mantra.
