Yin Yang Yolk

Here’s an interesting way to have your eggs in the morning from the photographer Shannon Calvert who has produced this picture called Eggregation.

She made a mould using paperboard to create the shape of the world famous Yin Yang symbol and then placed two egg whites before cutting out the circle. The yolk was also placed in the pan.

Speaking about her idea, Calvert said: “Dichotomy is a tough concept to illustrate! The yin yang symbol encompasses the ideas of dark and light, good and evil, etc., but it's a total cliche by now. I wanted to do something different. I tried to think of things you separate, and when I thought of separating eggs it just clicked.”

The picture won first place in the DP Challenge, an online digital photography contest.
