If you're an adventurous eater what about tucking into some Thanksgiving insect food as David George Gordon, known as The Bug Chef Extraordinaire, will be in Times Square to dish out some Thanksgiving inspired insect recipes.

Cranberry cockroach relish, chestnut and crickets and of course it wouldn't be a Thanksgiving insect menu without chocolate covered grasshoppers from Mexico for dessert.

There's no denying that as we progress insects will play a bigger role in our diets - the advantage of farming them alone is show in this insect vs livestock inforgraphic - but is Thanksgiving really the best time to test the theory?

Anyone brave enough to sample the dishes will get a half price entrance to the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum.
