We're not sure how we feel about eating from these eerie plates. Made by Israeli ceramic artist Ronit Baranga, this line of dinnerware features realistic mouths and fingers that seem to reach out from the plates and cups.
So why create such an uncanny line of ceramics? Baranga says, "I chose to deal with ‘mouth’ as a metaphoric connotation to a border gate. A border between the inner body and the external environment surrounding it. The mouth allows physical entrance and conceptual exit. I created several works based on this element, dealing with borders, gates and entry into deeper layers.”
Without a doubt Baranga's dinnerware offers the perfect table setting for a adventurous eaters. Would you buy these plates with mouths and fingers? Or do they creep you out? Tell us in the comments below!
