Inspired by Donald Trump's trademark orange hue artist Lauren Garfinkel has captured him on a circus peanut as part of her Edible Government project.

Garfinkel uses her food based canvases mainly to reflect a political message, "I select topics that passion or worry me" Garfinkel told the Journal Focus. Her emphasis is mainly on the political arena, where she uses food art as a form of participation in expressing her political opinions.

However, it's not all serious stuff and sometimes she is drawn into lighter hearted topics or attracted to characters that catch her attention such as Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour.

Garfinkel photographs her edible art which obviously has a limited lifespan. Asked whether she eats her art when she's done, an amused Garfinkel confirmed that she doesn't, feeling it would simply be too barbaric, particularly with the portraits.

Here are some examples of her other work below from the Edible Gallery.

Garfinkel uses potatoes on a play on words making reference to state initiatives to tighten up citizen ID requirements which doubters believed would disenfranchaise the elderly and minorities.
