Amazing Pits and Pyramids Made From Sweets
Photo Sam Kaplan

Pyramids never looked this tasty. That's thanks to award-winning photographer Sam Kaplan and his knack for turning ordinary objects into geometric eye candy (pun fully intended).

His series Pits and Pyramids features picturesque pyramids and craters crafted by strategically stacking cookies, candy and sandwiches. It's hard not to be tempted by his food art.

Kaplan, who counts Google and Condé Nast Traveler as clients, says he enjoys the challenge of working with food as a medium.

“I like shooting it because it has a shelf life on set,” he says. “It’ll start looking bad after 15 minutes, so you have to problem-solve rather quickly," he explained in an interview with American Photo last year.
