Designer Creates Delicious Lounge For Chocolate Lovers

When he's not crafting modern chopsticks or wowing the world with sexy bowls, Nendo is busy working with chocolate. The Japanese designer's most recent work is an installation called the Chocolatexture Lounge, which was showcased at the Maison & Objet fair held in Paris.

With its lush dark brown furniture and 2,000 aluminum rods painted in chocolate hues, the Chocolatexture Lounge is a multi-sensory space dedicated to chocolate lovers. To create the look Nendo reached out to Italian furniture companies he has worked with and asked them to provide seating 'covered' in chocolate tones. 

As an extra special touch, Nendo also created nine edible chocolate designs that visitors could enjoy while sitting at the Chocolatexture Lounge. With all this chocolatey deliciousness, it's no wonder Nendo was named the 2015 Maison & Objet’s Designer of the Year.
