Forget Sans Serif, Helvetica and Arial, Utah based lettering artist and designer Becca Clason has come up with a far more creative way of creating copy.

In a series of witty photos Clason has handcrafted words, phrases, and illustrations using food as her medium. Working with a number of different food groups including sugar, salads, sweets and seeds each word is carefully crafted in the material of choice that best represents it. 

Clason's food typography has caught the eye of some big internationals including American Express and Target as well as national newspapers. Counting The Washington Post amongst her clients she created a magazine front cover out of fruit for the newspaper this summer using the duality of food to express the message of the magazine content.

Clason's work runs to more than just one word slogans, she is also keen on creating fun visual recipes where each ingredient is physically represented on a black board with white chalk writing pointing out the details. You can catch more of her work on Instagram.
