How To Tattoo A Banana And Turn It Into A Food Art Masterpiece

Commercial multimedia artist Phil Hansen is a big fan of making art out of everyday objects. His popular works are made from matchsticks, tire tracks, peanut butter, dollar bills, and paint on his own torso. Now he shares his wildly creative approach, and shows us all how to make art anywhere, anytime: his engaging and ispiring book Tattoo A Banana encourages us to create, reimagine, and make something out of (almost) nothing.

Some examples? Take these bananas, that he "tattoed" to turn them into a piece of art: he punctured the skin of the starchy fruit with a pin, using a technique similar to that of pointillism.  Each perforation is made close together in order that the lines of the 'drawing' prominently appears resulting in 'masterpieces' - like Michelangelo or Vincent Van Gogh - which become visible as the banana naturally browns.

The book will be released on the 5th of June, click here to purchase the volume on Amazon.
