The Malta-born artist Elisa von Brockdorff signed ‘The Staged World’': a series teeters between whimsical fantasy and a magical reality with its creative use of colors and ordinary objects.
In each photograph she sets up scenes with food and everyday objects. Each object is meant to challenge its placement: from candy-crafted plants to a mountain made of spoona, each photograph has the viewer thinking twice about the objects’ original use. The playful staged set-ups are the perfect mix of a bold palette and minimalism.
