Designer Creates Meat Carcasses From Fabric

Designer Tamara Kostianovsky is showing off her ferocious appetite with a new collection inspired by meat carcasses, something we're pretty sure Lady Gaga would love.

The New York-based artist wanted to make butchery more palatable, something people could feel more comfortable with. So she decided to portray different cuts of meat using fabric in a project she calls Actus Reus

Kostianovsky uses meat hooks and chains to display her pieces, which ghastly resemble  the real thing. Her pieces have creative, and at times poetic, names like: Intertwined, What It Once Was, Venus and Abnegation.

''My intention is to confront the viewers with the real and grotesque nature of violence, offering a context for reflecting about the vulnerability of our physical existences, brutality, poverty, consumption, and the voracious needs of the body,'' said the artist.
